The National Research Foundation took a decision to move the opening date for the honours, masters and doctoral Call following a process of engagement with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
It is important to read the relevant documents before deciding on the funding opportunity you need to apply to.

Honours
- South African citizens and permanent residents only.
- Areas of support: Physics, Electronic, Astronomy, Astrophysics and Computer Science.
Masters & Doctoral
- Also open to citizens of Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia
- Areas of support: Approved SARAO research projects only namely Science and Engineering
